Are you a Senior Structural Engineer or Junior Level Associate Structural Engineer who's looking to head down a slightly different path, moving away from a technically focused role?

Structural Search find ourselves partnering with yet another long-term client of ours, working on a sole/retained basis, in a search for a future Director & shareholder of this particular business.

We've partnered with this business for 7 years now & are proud to do so, given that we're convinced there's not a single consultancy in London who could boast the same retention rate, given that in over 10 years these guys have only lost lost two members of staff to another engineering constultancy.

That's pretty impressive & makes it pretty obvious that these guys are doing something right, both in terms of the work they do & the environment and culture which has been created.

This is by far the most strategic piece of recruitment we've done together since we started working together in 2015 & what we're looking for is a seriously ambitious Senior Structural Engineer of at least 6 or 7 years' experience, although we'll also consider Junior-Mid level Associates up to around 10 years' experience.

What we're looking for is someone who'd like to go on a slightly different path, away from a heavily technically focused role.

We're looking for someone who'd like to be less & less involved (although still involved) in the engineering & technical side and more involved in helping promote the business externally & effectively support the Director in growing the business in the coming years.

Although to do this, you'll need to be a good Engineer with a solid background & a breadth of project experience, enabling you to convey the businesses' philosophy to new prospective clients, as well as being able to showcase the wonderful solutions your mind is capable of producing to architects etc, pencil & paper in hand.

But here's where things get really interesting...

There's only 1 Director at present & in the coming years, they want to distribute shares to others within the business & be in a position to hand the business over one day so that the legacy lives on beyond their retirement - call it early succession planning.

To be clear on how unique this is, not once in Nathan's 7.5 years has he had a client come forward & say, "I want to give shares away in the coming years", until now.
